Vittorio Emanuele Bressanin, figlio di una famiglia di commercianti, sente la predisposizione per la pittura e decide di trasferirsi, ancor giovane, a Venezia per approfondire i propri studi nella locale Accademia di belle arti. Presso l'Accademia studiò con profitto sotto la guida del maestro Pompeo Gherardo Molmenti. Conseguito il diploma viene chiamato ad insegnare alla locale Scuola d'Arte, fondata nel 1872, dove contribuì alla formazione degli studenti con colleghi del calibro di Ettore Tito, Ludovico Cadorin ed Emilio Paggiato.

Parallelamente alla sua professione di docente svolge numerose opere pittoriche, su tela e a fresco, fedele al barocco dei frescanti veneti settecenteschi abbinate a tematiche neorococò ripetitive alle quali, nonostante il panorama artistico italiano si stesse evolvendo, rimase fedele fino alla sua morte.

Il primo successo che lo fece conoscere a livello nazionale lo ottenne nel 1887, con l'opera L'ultimo senato esposta all'Esposizione nazionale artistica di Venezia, successo bissato a Milano nel 1894 con il conseguimento del Premio Principe Umberto con l'opera Fuoco spento.

Vittorio Emanuele Bressanin, son of a family of merchants, feels the predisposition for painting and decided to move, still young, in Venice to deepen their studies in the local Academy of Fine Arts. At the Academy he studied with profit under the guidance of the master Pompeo Gherardo Molmenti. Achieved the diploma is called to teach at the local School of Art, founded in 1872, where he contributed to the training of students with colleagues such as Ettore Tito, Ludovico Cadorin and Emilio Paggiato.

Parallel to his profession as a teacher he carried out numerous pictorial works, on canvas and in fresco, faithful to the baroque of the eighteenth-century Venetian frescanti combined with repetitive neo-Rococo themes to which, despite the fact that the Italian artistic scene was evolving, he remained faithful until his death.

The first success that made him known nationally was obtained in 1887, with the work The Last Senate exhibited at the National Art Exhibition in Venice, success repeated in Milan in 1894 with the achievement of the Prince Umberto Award with the work Fire off.
