Friedrich Goldscheider nacque nel 1845 a Slabetz, nella Repubblica Ceca, e morì nel 1897 a Nizza. È uno degli imprenditori di maggior successo nella storia della ceramica europea. Fondò la sua manifattura a Vienna con il nome di "Goldscheidersche Porzellan-Manufactur und Majolica-Fabrik" nel 1885.
I suoi pezzi erano in sintonia con lo spirito del tempo intorno al 1900 e in particolare negli anni Venti. I suoi pezzi erano noti a livello internazionale; erano realizzati in maiolica, terracotta, bronzo e alabastro e rappresentavano gli stili storicista, art nouveau, art déco e orientalista.

Friedrich Goldscheider was born in 1845 in Slabetz, Czech Republic, and died in 1897 in Nice. He is one of the most successful entrepreneurs in the history of European ceramics. He founded his manufactory in Vienna under the name "Goldscheidersche Porzellan-Manufactur und Majolica-Fabrik" in 1885.
His pieces were in tune with the spirit of the times around 1900 and particularly in the 1920s. His pieces were internationally known; they were made of majolica, terracotta, bronze and alabaster and represented historicist, art nouveau, art deco and orientalist styles.
